Smart Meter Targets Framework: consultation on minimum installation requirements for Year 3 (2024) and Year 4 (2025)

Closed 21 Mar 2023

Opened 7 Feb 2023

Overview

The four-year smart metering Targets Framework came into effect on 1 January 2022. This Framework sets energy suppliers in Great Britain annual installation targets on a trajectory to 100% smart coverage by end 2025, subject to an annual allowance or ‘tolerance level’ that applies across industry as a percentage of each supplier’s customer base.

We welcome responses from energy suppliers, as well as from smart metering and energy industry stakeholders and other interested parties.

Each question includes the option to upload supporting evidence, however this is limited to one file per question. If you would like to upload more than one file, please send your consultation response to smartmetering@beis.gov.uk.
